Blown Away!

A great friend passed something on to me yesterday that blew me away.  A.W.Tozar writes, "The Christian soon learns that if he would be victorious as a son of heaven among men on earth he must not follow the common pattern of mankind, but rather the contraty.  That he may be safe he puts himself in jeopardy; he loses his life to save it and is in daner of losing it if he attempts to perserve it.  He goes down to get up.  If he refuses to go down he is alread down but when he starts down he is on his way up.

He is strongest when he is weakest and weakest when he is strong.  Though poor he has the power to make other rich, but when he becomes rich his ability to enrich others vanishes.  He has most after he has given most away and has least when he possesses most.

He may be and often is highest when he feels lowest and most sinless when he is most conscious of sin...."

The article goes on and continues to emphasize the "frustration, confusion and dilemma" each Christian lives in.  There is a natural man inside of us which must be slain so that the God centered man may take over.  It is a daily battle we each must wage in order to "finish well."

Jesus told his followers that to follow him, they needed to daily take up their cross and follow him. The idea of death to live is a great paradox and an anathema for the unbelieving world. BUT to as many as receive His truth and believe in Him, it is the very power of God and what he uses to save us. The Lord plainly told us the 'flesh and blood' (that is the part of us that is visible) will not inherit the kingdom. So why is it that even believers spend so much time and attention on the physical. Our prayers (and prayer lists) are a great accumulation of seeking help for the sick and dying. It is very appropriate to pray for the sick and the dying but the ones we should be most concerned with are those who are sick in spirit and in danger of eternal death.

We are to live radically, as He has radically changed our lives through His work on the cross. Does not mean we live reckless, but on the edge to help bring about His kingdom work so that He will be glorified, as we die to ourselves, so that He lives victoriously through us.
